The grounds are iconic and have been shown in various movies, such as
The Notebook and The Patriot.


Cypress Gardens has indoor exhibits as well, such as the Butterfly House and the Swamparium, allowing you to view and learn more about the native wildlife.

The premier location for indoor family fun entertainment, Swamp Fox Lanes has a lot to offer. 


Bowling is by far the biggest attraction here, seeing as it’s partially where the location got its name. They have plenty of deals that make bowling very easy on the wallet, as well as special events. 


You can also get a bite to eat during your visit by stopping by the inhouse kitchen Dreamers. Serving American staples such as wings, burgers, and pizza, the restaurant regularly hosts a comedy night where top-notch comedians come to perform.

Old Santee Canal Park commemorates the building of America’s first true canal while also providing more opportunities for outdoors enthusiasts to connect with nature. With over 4 miles of boardwalk and a three-mile paddling trail, this park is a favorite destination for bird-watchers and those who love getting up close to wildlife from a canoe.


The centerpiece of Old Santee Canal Park is the Interpretive Center, an 11,000 sq. ft facility that showcases the historical and natural significance of the local area. The center has two theaters that show educational films about the area and also includes exhibits of different species of fish and reptiles found throughout South Carolina.

BERKELEY COUNTY MUSEUM

Located within Old Santee Canal Park, Berkeley County Museum is situated in a building reminiscent of an old plantation home. Inside you’ll find exhibits showcasing the history of Berkeley county over the last 12,000 years. 


At the museum, you’ll also learn about:

  • African American history
  • Native American settlements
  • The Swamp Fox and his relevance in the Revolutionary War
  • Development of Lakes Marion and Moultrie
  • And more!

Berkeley County Museum has also held several temporary exhibits, including the Expressions of Art in Berkeley County, showcasing the works of local artists.


While the museum doesn’t have an admission fee, you will have to pay a fee to enter the Old Santee Canal Park.
