Blacks Camp was originally founded as a place where families could get away from the stress of everyday life, with a primary focus on fishing. Over the years, our services and accommodations have changed, but our dedication to helping our guests have a fun fishing experience hasn’t. To help with this goal, we provide a number of services and amenities to make your fishing trip a success.

Fishing Guide Services

At Blacks Camp, you’ll have access to both Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion fishing opportunities as well as the Diversion Canal. Combined, that’s just under 200,000 acres of surface area. If you want to have the best chances at success on your fishing trip, we highly recommend hiring a local guide.

While we cannot provide guide services here at Blacks Camp, we have connections with many local Santee Cooper fishing guides that know the area intimately. We can recommend a good, experienced, and personable guide that specializes in the specific fish you are looking for. Blacks Camp only recommends the most reputable independent guides to ensure that you get the best experience possible.

What to Expect

All of the trips that run out of Blacks Camp are private, meaning it’ll be your party and your captain only. Trips usually last up to eight hours or until you meet a limit for fish, whichever occurs first. 

Many of the captains dock their boat at our location, meaning that you can wake up, enjoy a great breakfast at our restaurant, then head straight out onto the water. The type of boat you’ll be on will depend on the type of fish you’re after. For example, catfish trips are usually conducted from Tritoons, bass trips from bass boats, and so on.

The guide typically supplies everything you need for your outing, with the exception of three items:

• Food and drink
• Fishing License
• Fish cleaning

Box Lunches and Meals at Blacks Camp Restaurant

Blacks Camp Restaurant continues to delight guests that dine with us. We offer a wide variety of affordable, delicious meals that can start your big fishing adventure on the right foot with a homemade breakfast.

In addition, with advance notice, our restaurant can prepare box lunches to take with you while you are out on the water, allowing you to more fully enjoy yourself while having the time of your life.

Fishing License Help

Getting a South Carolina fishing license can be a tedious process. However, it’s incredibly important for you to get one before you go fishing because the last thing you want on your fishing excursion is to have it ruined by not having the correct license with you.

Here at Blacks Camp, we offer help to get you the proper fishing license that meets your needs minimizing the stress of obtaining one. This way, you’ll be ready to go when it’s time to get out onto the water.

Fish Cleaning

For many, one of the most satisfying parts of going fishing is eating your catch. We have a fish cleaning station that is free to guests so they can properly dress their fish.

However, we understand that sometimes, cleaning the fish is one of the last things you want to do when you get back from fishing. Blacks Camp offers a small fee to clean your fish for you. Inquire for current pricing. 

Bait and Tackle Shop

We have a full service bait and tackle shop onsite that offers a wide selection of bait and fishing equipment that can help you find success. The shop features a large selection of live bait of varying types that cycle depending on the season
