What is Crosswind Farm?

In short, Crosswind farm is a local family’s dream come true. Since moving to their current location in 2016, the owners of this petting zoo in South Carolina have captured the hearts and minds of local children and families with their wide array of interactive and playful animals. The farm has grown over the years to include plenty of amenities and services, which we’ll quickly go over.

Note: one of the main services Crosswind Farm is ‘bringing the animals to you’ at your current location. We don’t allow mobile petting zoos to come to Blacks Camp.

Parties and Tours

Perhaps the biggest service the farm provides is helping you throw a birthday party for your kids at their location. When you throw a party at Crosswind Farm in South Carolina, you get:

• To bring up to 20 child guests and unlimited adults
• To bring outside food/drinks/cake
• 2 hours of party time (with 45 minutes to set up beforehand)
• Interaction with over 50 petting zoo animals

Their 10 acre venue offers plenty of activities on site, including:

• playground equipment
• Horse rides (inside if weather demands)
• Multiple kinds of swings (tire, porch, disk, skateboard)
• Party barn that can be decorated

If you don’t have a reason to throw a party but still want to enjoy the day at the farm with your family, you can opt for a private tour. For 90 minutes, you can enjoy many of the same activities that you could during a party. You can also have access to:

• Inflatables
• Train rides

Please note that the farm tour is not meant for parties, as the birthday party service allows for more accommodations.

Animal and Family Photography

Pictures can be a great way to hold on to great memories, especially when they are taken by a professional photographer. You can add a photo shoot onto a tour or party, or just order one by itself. The pricings vary greatly depending upon your preferences. For example, a shoot could take as little as 15 min or as long as an hour.

Regardless of the type of photo op you purchase, you’re sure to love how photogenic the animals at the farm are. From small lambs and ducklings to grown horses, the sky’s the limit. If you’d prefer, you can simply have a family photo shoot at the farm without animals present.

An interesting option that is offered by Crosswind Farm is the “Unicorn Full Photo Session”, where they decorate one of their horses with flower wreaths and adorn a horn on its head, which is perfect for a princess fantasy.

Splatball

A newer addition to the farm is Splatball, a safe, eco-friendly alternative to paintball. The battery powered guns for this activity shoot water filled beads, creating no mess. The farm supplies all the protective gear, guns, and inflatable course pieces. A free demonstration is included.

This activity can be added to the birthday party service, getting you a $50 discount if you do so.

Public Events

Crosswind Farms also hosts special events throughout the year where you not only can enjoy discounted prices, but can also experience additional activities. 

These events can take a variety of forms. Some are holiday based, such for the autumn and winter seasons, where there will be extra activities like cookie exchanges and pumpkin painting. 

Other events involve partnering with local businesses and institutions that can provide educational benefits to your visit. Past events like these include Dinosaur Learning and Educational Play day and a Reptile Learning Day.
